The He's So/She's So Trilogy by Kieran Scott

Hey! :)

Today's book[s] are 'She's so dead to us', 'He's so not worth it', and 'This is so not happening', all part of the He's So/She's so trilogy.

The first book follows a girl named Ally Ryan. Ally moved out of Orchard Hill, her former home as her father had "practically bankrupted all their friends". Two years after she moved out of Orchard Hill, her mother landed a job back at the site of their downfall.
Here's the book description:
" When having money is all that matters, what happens when you lose it all?
Perfect, picturesque Orchard Hill. It was the last thing Ally Ryan saw in the rearview mirror as her mother drove them out of town and away from the shame of the scandal her father caused when his hedge fund went south and practically bankrupted all their friends. Friends that liked having trust funds and new cars and friends that didn’t like constant reminders they had been swindled. So it was adios, Orchard Hill. Thanks for nothing.

Now two years later, Ally’s mother has landed a job back in the site of their downfall. Despite Ally’s new low key, happy life, it’ll be back into the snake pit with the likes of Chloe Appleby and Hammond Ross.

But then there’s Jake Graydon. Handsome, wealthy, bored Jake Graydon. He moved to town after Ally left and knows nothing of her scandal, but does know that he likes her. And she likes him. So off into the sunset they can go, right? Too bad Jake’s friends have a problem with his new crush since it would mean he could make Ally Ryan happy. And if anyone deserves to be unhappy it’s her.

Ally was hoping to have left all the drama in the past but some things just can’t be forgotten. Aren’t there more important things than money?"

The second book, 'He's so not worth it' centres around Ally Ryan and her former friends, who pick on her and humiliate her. Then Jake Graydon lets her down. Then her father reappears again and acts like nothing ever happened.
Here's the book description:
"In this sequel to SHE’S SO DEAD TO US, Ally Ryan finds that some things are just not worth the energy.
First her “friends” humiliate her. Then Jake lets her down. Again. Then her MIA father reappears and acts like nothing has changed. Then her mother wants to spend the entire summer at her new boyfriend’s beach house. Breaking point, meet Ally Ryan.

After the year she had, all Ally wants is to be let alone. Unfortunately, the Jersey Shore is not the place for privacy. And if she gets one more text about what Jake Graydon has been up to all summer . . .

Labor Day cannot come soon enough. "

In the final book, 'This is so not happening', Ally finds out Jake had an affair over the summer and got Chloe pregnant. Ally, however, is persistent in making her relationship with Jake work.

Here's the book description:
"In this final book of the HE’S SO/SHE’S SO TRILOGY, Ally and Jake face their toughest challenges yet.

After their long summer apart, Ally and Jake were hoping for a drama free senior year. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like things will work out that way...again.

It turns out that Chloe is pregnant and says that Jake is the father. Hammond is pissed at his best friend, but mostly can't believe that Ally would stay with Jake. But Ally is tired of being apart from Jake and is willing to make it work. But that is easier said than done when Jake starts blowing Ally off to go to doctor's appointments with Chloe and Ally joins the school play and meets a new cute guy.

But as graduation approaches, things get more complicated as new secrets come out and Ally realizes maybe Jake isn't the guy she thought he was. After everything they've been through can Ally and Jake get out of Orchard Hill with their relationship in tact?"

The trilogy is full of drama and love. I'd recommend these three books to 13-15 year olds.

Until next time :)

'Entwined' by Heather Dixon

Let's go!
'Entwined' is a book based on the fairytale 'The twelve dancing princesses'. It centres on a princess named Azalea and her eleven sisters. After their mother dies giving birth to the twelfth sister, the princesses go into mourning and are forced to comply with the rules of mourning. They, however, find a magical secret passage in their room and dance there every night as it leads to a beautiful pavilion.
This book is full of magic and is very enchanting. I would recommend this to readers who love magic and 12-14 year olds.
Here's the book description:

"Azalea is trapped. Just when she should feel that everything is before her . . . beautiful gowns, dashing suitors, balls filled with dancing . . . it's taken away. All of it.
The Keeper understands. He's trapped, too, held for centuries within the walls of the palace. And so he extends an invitation.
Every night, Azalea and her eleven sisters may step through the enchanted passage in their room to dance in his silver forest.

But there is a cost.

The Keeper likes to keep things.

Azalea may not realize how tangled she is in his web until it is too late."

'The Elite' by Kiera Cass

Here we go!

Like the previous book in The Selection Trilogy, this is one of my FAVOURITE books. Seriously.
'The Elite' continues on from where 'The Selection' left off. Now down to 6 elite girls instead of the usual 10, America is running out of time to decide if her heart is with Aspen or Prince Maxon. When she is with Maxon, she is "swept up in their new romance", but whenever she sees Aspen standing guard somewhere, she is reminded of "the life they planned to share". I couldn't put it down while I was reading it. Again, I personally would recommend it to hopeless romantics and 13-15 year olds. Do check out the Kiera Cass[The author of the book]'s blog.

Here's the book description:
"Thirty-five girls came to the palace to compete in the Selection. All but six have been sent home. And only one will get to marry Prince Maxon and be crowned princess of Illea.

America still isn’t sure where her heart lies. When she’s with Maxon, she’s swept up in their new and breathless romance, and can’t dream of being with anyone else. But whenever she sees Aspen standing guard around the palace, and is overcome with memories of the life they planned to share. With the group narrowed down to the Elite, the other girls are even more determined to win Maxon over—and time is running out for America to decide.

Just when America is sure she’s made her choice, a devastating loss makes her question everything again. And while she’s struggling to imagine her future, the violent rebels that are determined to overthrow the monarchy are growing stronger and their plans could destroy her chance at any kind of happy ending."

Psst! There is actually one more book in The Selection Trilogy! It's an ebook and it's called 'The Prince'. It is told from Maxon's POV[Point of view].
Until next time :)

'The Selection' by Kiera Cass

Alright, here we go!

This is one of my FAVOURITE books.
'The Selection' is written by Kiera Cass. It follows a girl named America who signs up for a competition of a lifetime, The Selection, a chance to win the Crown Prince of Illea's heart and become a princess. This story is set after World War III. I personally feel this book is great for 13-15 year olds. Or hopeless romantics. :) I enjoyed this book very much. Do check out Kiera Cass[The author of the book]'s blog.

The book description:
"For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in a palace and compete for the heart of gorgeous Prince Maxon.

But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn't want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks.

Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she's made for herself—and realizes that the life she's always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined."
